The results from the survey of the cylinder rails are available. They are closer than the nominal distance by 2 mm, and their shape is resonably correct (deviations less than 1 mm in the horizontal plane, slightly larger than 1 mm in the vertical plane). The X- rail will be used as reference.
The shape of the thermal screen as a function of phi has been measured and it is generally good. The finalization of the TOB supports has now started.
Two of the grounding strips have been glued, after some fighting with the glue, that has a funny consistency, more like slodi silver than a typical glue. Tomorrow the resistance between two cylinder ends will be measured.
Antti is investigating the possibilities for leak tests of rods and cooling segments. It seems that in any case we will need some state-of-the-art portable sniffer for fluorocarbon. Whether we also need to test with Helium and to which extent is still under discussion.
We need to provide cables to Doug to study the strain reliefs for the magnet test mechanics. Although he did not explicitly ask, a DOHM could also be useful. Guido and Antti will build two good and two non functional DOHMs next week.
The situation of the bills from KenTech is still not completely solved. Now Laszlo is working on it.
Mohsin and Imtiaz have dismounted more than 100 rods, to re-clean IC BUS and IC Cards. Next week they will start re-assembling them.
